You’ve probably heard the expression “Knowledge is power.” It sounds impressive, but the fact is that knowledge without purpose is useless. Making your knowledge work for you is the key.
If you want to improve your health and feel better, you’ve got to supplement what you know with appropriate action. If you have trouble doing so, get the help you need and follow through on it.
If you are struggling with a chronic disease, there are three key points you need to implement for self-healing. By understanding and using these keys wisely, you will create a better quality of life. My calling as a Life Coach and Counselor became my path after I personally experienced debilitating, chronic, “incurable” disease and ultimately completely healed from it. Reversing illness first hand, I can attest these keys not only improve your health and how you feel, they up your productivity, prosperity, creativity, and can even improve your personal relationships.
These three “keys to healing” are now being discussed at length by the leaders and forward thinkers of healthcare, and you may be familiar with them. Let’s go over all three of them briefly, and in subsequent columns, I’ll elaborate on how to make them work well for you.
The first key to healing is effective stress relief. Notice the word “effective.” Lots of resources out there promise to help us relieve our stress, but simply mollifying our daily angst isn’t going to cut it. Releasing your deep emotional stress is the key to easing the symptoms of illness and allow your body to work it’s self-healing magic.
Second, we use specific exercises that are proven to reprogram our brains and bodies for health and healing. Many of these exercises are easy to do, but we have to know how to do them correctly. This means employing advanced training principles, like using both mind and body for results. These exercises include both physical movement (depending on your condition) and mental exercises to reprogram the pathways to our brain. Think this is fairy-tale science? No, it’s mainstream, leading-edge science. Read more in the “healing science” section. When I coach people with physical illness, I often teach creative visualization as one of these tools. Another tool is hypnotherapy.
The third key to self-healing brings it all together in a powerful way. You will paint a new self-portrait, which means creating (an improved self-image and increased self-esteem, confidence in your life and relationships, and achieved a better version of your authentic self.
With these self-healing keys, you can begin moving in the direction of better health, and a better quality of life.
